| Shower valves are available in either thermostatic or non thermostatic (mixer) types. Normally, but not always, thermostatic valves have three dials (one to choose the water outlet, one for the water flow and the third dial controls the temperature). Mixer or non thermostatic valves have a water outlet dial and a water flow/mixer dial or lever. Aside from the choice between thermostatic and mixer valves, the 'number of outlets' on the valve can vary. The outlets determines the number of showering or bath filling options your shower has. Typically you might have; hand shower, foot massage spa, overhead shower, body jets, bath filler. You should choose the correct type for the number of functions on your shower. |
